Respect gain/loss based on threat level. Killing someone armed to the teeth should not net the same amount like killing a respawn who just picked up a stinger.

Also losing respect on comitting suicuide should be completely removed from the game. Sure people will just suicuide to get somewhere else, but there are also LOADS of bugs that kills you such as sliding on base floors, head exploding walking to close to a flag pole (sometimes) getting launched thousands of meters up in the air due to desynch etc. Shouldn't really lose more than you gain tbh, losing over 1k respect dying to a fresh spawn with a makarov pistol meh... also getting killed while being a bambi (and lose respect) yourself is also, meh.

I'd also bring back my old suggestion, being able to upgrade the poptabs locker, not much, only by like 25k or something so you can have like 50k stored, not everyone is spending time to build a base. I myself spend around 3-5k everytime I'm at a trader zone to gear up, and when you're visiting the trade zone many times during a day, 25k is runs out quickly.

In theory, it shouldn't give you the same respect/gain loss. As far as I'm aware, when you die, you lose 5% of the respect that you had when you died, and when you kill somebody, you gain 5% of the respect that you had when you killed said player.

As you have stated, completely removing the respect loss on suicide will just lead to constant kill spamming to get a good spawn - not really how the game should be played sadly.

In regards to your second point about locker upgrades, I think something is being worked on to that extent currently, but I'm not 100% sure :)

Kind regards,
Blu

I just realised that once you spawn at let's say BA, you can't spawn at the same point for some time. So spam suicuiding wouldn't make much sense as you have to wait anyways to be able to spawn at the same point you previous spawned on.

Hey Guys,

Great work on the servers so far! Can't get enough :-)

A few things I'd like to see if possible -

  • Vehicle Capacity adjusted to be more balanced. It does feel like the Strider and other very high end purchases should be able to store more. The Quillin can store as much as some of the vans!
  • A reduction in the number of safes / concrete pieces available at the Ikea convoy missions. Safes and concrete are quite easy to get hold of since they spawn so frequently at missions. It would be much more balaned if they had a super rare spawn rate so that the n00bs had to work hard to get safes and concrete.
  • More loot at other missions would be great to make them worth while, even if it just just guns and Armour that can be sold for pop caps / respect.
  • Persistence at your base for mines and the deployable machine gun which can be bought from the spec ops vendor. Maybe a cap on how many of these items can be placed. E.g. 1 at level 1, 2 a level 5, 3 at level 10.
  • A method for diffusing mines.
  • A method for blowing open safes. I think it should cost a lot of money and take a lot of time, maybe even destroyed half of the contents. It could be a super rare item, even rarer than knives / thermals and need other items like zip ties or mobile phones.
  • The Knife - I've had about 6 of these over the course of about 4 months of playing Exile and every attempt to break into a car has failed. Maybe an increase to the chance of success just a smidge? :-)
  • Respawn at your base (with a cool down on how often this can be done) - Maybe players can place their own sleeping bag / personal spawn point.
  • More customisation at the vehicle workshop. Maybe you can add a gun to your quillin or strider for a lot of pops. This would be great for long term players to sink their caps into.

That's all for now! - I'd be interested to see what folks think.

Like mentioned before base raiding is something that's being worked on.

The knife is 50/50 chance so its just your bad luck.

Respawn at base will never happen too op.

Imagine a situation where you're raiding a base and killing the defender, who then proceeds to spawn at his base, loot his gun and kill you 30 seconds later. Yeah, I wouldn't like that either.

Work around it.

Don't allow people to spawn at their sleeping bag when there's been an active shootout or enemy players are nearby

The arma mods have always been about a sense of realistic combat mixed with real punishments for an in game death. That is what really sets Arma apart from games like COD. If you die, you respawn on the coast. As many times as this has been suggested to change over the years... it will not. I could pick apart your suggestion for a fix, but its a moot point as spawning back at your base will just simply not ever happen. Sorry.

Aww! Well you'll never know unless you ask at least 10 times :-)

I think some loose objectives or tasks for players who are at the higher tiers of the game. Kind of like the black market trader. as I reached the higher respect levels and had managed to farm everything I need for my base, I feel a bit stuck on what to do. Attacking low level bases and doing the current missions start to feel obsolete as the rewards are so minimal and the punishment is so great Currently the existing missions feel like they are only of benefit to low / medium tier players. The respect system of all things is punishing enough for high level players. I don't think this should be changed as I like how on my toes I feel I have to be because of it. I just feel that at higher respect levels there should be a bit more exclusivity.

A few suggestions for higher tier player improvements -

  • Expensive Customisation for Vehicles. Things like sticking a mounted weapon on your Strider / Quillin / Hunter / Humvee etc for a large amount of pop caps. Maybe upgrade their armour or storage capacity? These upgrades would really help sink pop caps at high levels. Horders like myself would definitely invest! If I could upgrade the storage and a weapon on the Strider I would be much more likely to buy and use one. At the moment these high tier vehicles barely get used because the liability to functionality ratio is just too poor. Everyone shoots you in a strider but at least if you've got a gun and a friend in the gunner seat you've got a chance to defend yourself. If it can actually store a reasonable amount of loot then it's worth using. We'd see a lot more diversity in the types of vehicles actually getting used. You could buy the vanilla vehicle, say a strider and gradually upgrade it making it more useful vehicle. These sort of upgrades could be available in the max respect threshold at normal trades and maybe also at the black market trader for any respect threshold but cost significantly more.

  • Player Customisation - Adding the ability to paint your weapons, attachments, parts of clothing if possible as well would be cool. It would let players really define their character and their family. These are the kind of things that create a sense of achievement for higher level players and encourage lower level players to keep active as it is kind of inspiring. For example, you could have clothing customisation respect tier 1, helmet 2, backpack 3 and weapons 4.

  • High Tier Missions / Group Missions. These are for the rock hard elitist. Maybe it requires some form of stealth or requires stacks of AI to slaughter or multiple missions / objectives to be cleared by the same group in order to gain the reward. These are the types of missions that should be rewarding high spec sniper rifles, safes, concrete and maybe thermal scanners. These missions should be very difficult if not impossible for low level players to complete. They can already get most of the high end loot from random loot drops at the right locations or farming materials to build them. I think it isn't fair that concrete and safes can be so easily farmed via Ikea Convoys or high security transports. Folks should get farming industrial buildings for the construction materials if they are low level and work their way up the food chain!

That's all for now. Again - interested to see what folks think.

One other change I'd welcome relates to the way in which territory is paid. Rather than resetting at the time you've paid, could it not reset on the day. So as long as you pay before midnight your base will be safe.

This is for Esseker.

Can you re-do the missions? Most of the missions spawns outside of the map..

Would love to see mission locations diversified. Currently, it seems like there are some set areas where missions spawn in, with only a little bit of wiggle-room. This creates a situation where players who have been around longer automatically know the best positions for most missions. In time, this is bound to get boring. I think it would be a huge improvement if missions could also spawn on open fields and clearings instead of exclusively beside roads at specific locations. For example, there's a massive area up north on Cherno, which is completely unused. Just look at the blue circle missions from the good old days of Arma 2 to know what I'm talking about.

Also, having vehicles as mission loot would probably increase the amount of vics roaming the map, which would be nice.

Other thing I'd like to touch is the Black Market Trader mission. Currently, after completing the mission the trader is available for 10 minutes (correct me if I'm wrong), which seems just a tad bit too short in my opinion. Maybe consider adding an extra 5 minutes to the timer? Would be interesting to see statistics about number of completed missions vs a number of times people actually bought something.

Some other ideas.

*KD ratio and respect shown in the highscores instead of max kills and deaths.

*Days survived and kill counter on XM8.

*The heatmap of all deaths is a nice little feature in the player portal. Wouldn't it be cool to also have a heatmap of all the positions you've killed someone? Or an overall statistics of all the players' deaths and kills in a given period?

I liked heldurs ideas ^. Not just kd and respect, but KD ratio, respect, kills, deaths and heatmap of deaths and kills on each player on the top list.

Its set the way it is to keep old base clutter off the server for better server performance. This way abandoned bases dont stay on the server for over a month.  My personal advice is to just always check your base maintenance whenever you are on and pay it as often as you can.

On the subject of clutter, There are probably not far off hundreds of randomly placed work benches and fireplaces. I've even seen random wood pieces and even a base name called 'Lokve' still on the server since i started. The lokve base still shows up and the base was wiped months ago. Just north of Borosh on Esseker dogs and zombies. Maybe some more aggressive wipe automation for random pieces would help with server performance :-)

I guess one way around is this to make the ownership of these items placed outside of a players territory as neutral so that anybody can pick them up and move / remove them.

Another suggestion regarding missions...

What about some sort of zombie / monster / infected style mission for the servers that include them? Maybe a large zombie horde surrounds a supply crate? Maybe a rescue mission to get an AI player away from the monsters? Maybe a hold the line type mission? It could activate like a capture point and you have to fight off zombie waves until the timer runs out to get the reward? Maybe there's a big bad ass zombie mission where you have to kill a massive super powerful zombie.
