Oh and also Redux map and Esseker none Zombies are linked, so you can teleport between those 2 maps... Please keep in mind this is an early implementation of this feature. If you have questions or bugs please report them on the forums.

FYI The New Redux Map has replaced Cherno Isles none Zombies... Anything that was on that map has been transferred over in full to the new Redux Map, you will have lost nothing.

But the server is full every night? Yes, Stratis is/was more populated, but Tanoa is a masterpiece. And not that expensive! With current jets loadouts Malden and Altis are unplayable. I know some of you guys really love jets, but it's only fun for the one in a jet :(

 

Yes, i could buy another jet to shoot it down (not much skill needed for that), but:

a) there are too many of the in the air

b) it would force me to go up into the air while i prefer ground based fights.

 

a) there are only one or two in the air at a time

 

b) There are these magical things called AA launchers. They make the jets go boom boom ;)

1 or 2 jets in the air? Right now on Malden, maybe. It will change very soon because this map is perfect for jets. Tanoa had ~10 jets in the air at times.

2) Barney, all 3 of us have well over 2000 hours in Arma 3. We have discovered launchers by now. Also, we know how useless they are against jets if they fly at mid-high altitude.

 

I do not mean to sound rude or so, just getting a bit sick of jet abusers telling us to use AA launchers. Last night we used 85 (not 84, not 86. 85) AA rockets. Most of choppers went down no problem. Yet only two jets.

Just as a quick side note, we are obviously going to be doing a lot of balance work in the next few days. 

 

Now that our two servers have similar climates we can balance more specifically. Instead of having to make changes for both an arrid and tropical map. 

 

Vehicles, jets in particular, will be getting changes if needed to make it fair.

Yeah, i understood what Mat76 wrote, no need to repeat :) And to be clear, there was no paywall. Apex was on sale for 12 euro only! The server was full every night and almost all day during the weekends. There were less kids on and that's a big plus.

Plus: Beautiful, different from anything BIS has released so far and with many locations to hide from enemies and so many airports. Tanoa was made with passion.

Has there been any talk about increasing view distance or decreasing? Say max 3000 on foot, 4000 in vehicle, 5000 in aerial?

I think it's a great idea.

I think it's a great idea.

It's a bad idea, that would be another game breaking thing. We barely can get a lock on on new jets due to their speed, giving them even more view distance would turn this server into air combat only. Same applies to new drones, they fly too high, too fast and they carry too many missiles.

Back in a day CCG had a server for air combat only. They hadn't enough targets so they moved this madness onto regular servers :|

i've thought long and hard on this next step, as Stratis has declined recently so i have changed that server to Tanoa so that we have two servers for different play styles, one small(ish) map 'Malden' for that spawn run gun experience and Tanoa a larger play style experience but not that large it gets lost like on Altis. 

 

Tanoa, Malden now chaps, no more server changes for a long time so make it work.
